Rond zijn twintigste voer hij rond de wereld bij de marine als seiner-telegrafist.

Nu is hij een typische 'Holland-schilder', die graag naar buiten gaat en de natuur als atelier gebruikt!

Woont in Haarlem, een stad 'aan de kust'.

Een geweldige plek, want alles is voorhanden:

De geelgroene duinen, de groenblauwe Noordzee en de prachtige Blauwe Luchten.

Onderwerpen en lokatie die al in de 19e eeuw zijn ontdekt door schilders als 

Gabriël, Ruisdael, Roelofs, Weissenbruch, Mesdag, en andere leden van de "'De Haagse school'

Een kunststroming (1860-1900) waarin de schilders naar buiten gingen om in de openlucht te gaan schilderen.

(Realistisch) Licht, Kleur en Atmosfeer waren de meest belangrijke thema's in hun werk.

IHet kan allemaal bekeken worden in de Nederlandse musea.  Het meeste werk van de Haase School schilders

 is te zien in het Kunstmuseum Den Haag. (voorheen Gemeentemuseum).

(Zeker de moeite waard!)

At his twenties he sailed around the world, and saw a lot of nature's beauty!

Now he is a painter and likes to go out on the field with Nature itself as his studio.

Living in the centre of Holland; in Haarlem, a town near Amsterdam.

A nice location, because all the spots are there;

The yello-greenish dunes, The green-blue Northsea and the Wonderful bluish skies. Locations already been discovered in the 18th century by famous Dutch painters

like Gabriël, Ruisdael, Roelofs, Weissenbruch, Mesdag, and other members of

'De Haagse school'  (Hague School).

An art movement  (1860-1900) whereby painters went into the open air to paint.

(Realistic) Light, Color and Atmosphere where the most important items in their work.

It can all be seen in the musea in The Netherlands. (It's worth seeing it!).
